Arsenal are spreading a wide net for a new midfield signing this summer.
The Daily Mail says Arsenal are set to ask Bayern Munich about the availability of Javi Martinez.
The club's ideal target is Borussia Dortmund's Ilkay Gundogan, but they realise their chances of landing the highly coveted Germany international are slim.
Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is another option.
