There is only one thing that can save Arsene Wenger's job: winning the Europa League.

According to the Daily Star, the Frenchman must win the competition in order to secure Arsenal's qualification for the Champions League.

Speaking after Sunday's 2-1 loss to Brighton - their fourth on the bounce - Wenger admitted the Gunners hopes of making the top-four were over.

Arsenal had their worst finish under Wenger last season as they missed out on Champions League qualification by ending the campaign in fifth.

But despite the board's loyalty to Wenger, another hit to their pockets by missing out on Europe's premier competition again will force them to act.

The Gunners face a tough test to win the tournament. They will travel to AC Milan on Thursday for their last-16 first leg at the San Siro.

The Serie A giants are in the middle of a midseason revival under Gennaro Gattuso, having not lost since before Christmas.
