Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated that Troy Deeney's comments are unjustifiable after the Watford captain aim a "cojones" jibe at the Gunners.
After leading the game 1-0, Arsenal went on to suffer a late loss against the Hornets last weekend after Deeney converted a penaltyand Tom Cleverly scored a last minute winner.
Wenger has since blasted Deeney for the comments which he made after the game. "Yes [Deeney's comments hurt] but I know what my players really are. In the last seven games we had six wins and one draw.
"Comments are part of the modern game. I love my players and I trust their strength of character to respond. You can't question our character. People try and put us down, they always have. Those comments aren't justified."
Arsenal take on Red Star Belgrade in a Europa League clash on Thursday before taking on Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.
