Arsenal management delighted with progress of Francis Coquelin

Arsenal reserves coach Neil Banfield is delighted with the progress of Francis Coquelin this past season.

The Frenchman saw plenty of first team action last term.

Banfield told arsenal.com: "I think Francis has done excellently. He has come over from France and settled in great, played ever so well and won the FA Youth Cup in 2009. He has developed into a multi-positional player. He has played at right back, and in midfield. He is very strong, and the future is bright for him. He has done ever so well in the first team.

"I think at the moment he would say his best position is central midfield, but I have to say I have been mightily impressed when he has played at full back. In the coming seasons he will find his niche. It is up to him now, once you're in that dressing room the world is your oyster. You have to keep focused, keep working really hard and get to 100 or 150 appearances for the first team. Then you can say that you have made it."
