Arsenal and Manchester United target Miguel Veloso is ready to leave Sporting Lisbon for the Premiership.

The Mirror says Arsenal could hijack Manchester United's attempts to sign Veloso for £20million in January.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is believed to be a big admirer of the versatile defender, who can play at left-back, centre back and across the midfield.

Veloso - also monitored by Sir Alex Ferguson - admits he'd consider a move to the Premier League. He said: "I'm willing to leave the club if the offer suits everyone."
