Arsenal are making a move for PSG midfielder Blaise Matuidi. The Daily Mail says the 26-year-old France midfielder's contract expires in the summer and he is available for a cut price fee following PSG's capture of Yohan Cabaye from Newcastle in a £23million deal.

Mathieu Flamini will serve a four-game suspension after being sent off against Southampton on Tuesday night and Aaron Ramsey has suffered a setback in his recovery from a thigh injury, leaving Gunners boss Arsene Wenger desperately short of midfield options as he looks to sustain Arsenal's title challenge.

Cabaye's arrival will push Matuidi further down the pecking order and with him stalling on a new contract they would rather cash in this week than risk losing him for nothing in the summer.

Along with Arsenal, the midfielder has also been linked with Manchester City this week.
