Arsenal make FA Cup intentions clear

Arsenal put their recent Carling Cup disaster behind them to make their FA Cup intentions very clear.

After going down to Championship outfit Ipswich Town 1-0 in the first leg of the league cup semi-final last week, the Gunners got through their third round FA Cup replay with Leeds United with a comfortable 3-1 in at Elland Road.

After the 1-1 draw with the Whites on January 8, the away fixture provided some danger for Arsene Wenger's men but they did the job thanks to an early goal from Samir Nasri who was delighted with the result.

"We wanted to start really strongly. We scored after five minutes and tried to play our game even though the pitch was a little difficult," he told ITV1.

"We want to win every competition and this cup is really important to us."

Skipper Cesc Fabregas agreed with Nasri's sentiments, saying: "As Samir said, we want to go all the way in every competition.

"We didn't know too much about (Leeds) but they played very, very well at the Emirates.

"But tonight we were much superior to them. They were dangerous for a spell after they scored but Arsenal played fantastic football."
