Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is now close to sealing an £11m deal for Ajax's Belgian defender Thomas Vermaelen.
Vermaelen, 23, currently on holiday in Mauritius, is expected to sign but his agent Soren Lerby is holding out for better personal terms than Arsenal's first offer in their four-year contract.
