Gonzalo Higuain is now leaning towards staying with Real Madrid, rather than signing for Arsenal.
Real Madrid have three days left before the start of the pre-season and Higuain will more than likely participate in the first training session.
The Argentine will also undergo the customary medical check-ups and, if nothing else changes in the immediate future, looks set to play the first three games, says Marca.
From looking destined for the Emirates, Higuain now accepts that there is a strong chance he will form part of Carlo Ancelotti's team.
There are also clear-the-air talks planned between Higuain and Real president Florentino Perez.
