Arsenal and Liverpool are going head-to-head for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The Daily Express says with Dortmund scrapping near the bottom of the Bundesliga, reports in Italy suggest that Mkhitaryan could be on his way in the near future.
Arsenal's priorities in January remain firmly on bringing in a defender and a defensive midfielder, but Arsene Wenger has stated in the past that he would not pass up the opportunity to bring in the right type of player.
And it is suggested that the Gunners may be willing to meet Dortmund's £18m asking price to bring Mkhitaryan to the Premier League.
Mkhitaryan has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in the past and the Reds could yet revive their interest in the player should Arsenal make their move.
