Arsenal are lining up a bid for Everton attacker Ross Barkley.

The Daily Express says Arsenal are favourites to land Barkley from Everton this summer.

Manchester United and Tottenham have been linked to the wantaway Toffees playmaker.

But the Gunners can afford to budget Barkley's £150,000-a-week salary demands - something Spurs will not do.

Arsenal, though, are also waiting for Everton to drop their £50m demands.

A bidding war late in the window could ensue as a result, with Barkley out of contract at Goodison Park next year.
