Arsenal legend Wright: Wenger must field strongest line-up in Carling Cup final

Arsenal legend Ian Wright says Arsene Wenger must field his strongest line-up for the Carling Cup final against Birmingham City.

Wright wrote for The Sun: "The Gunners take on Birmingham in the Carling Cup final knowing they could end their six-year wait for silverware.

"Win and it's a huge monkey off their backs, an end to all the whispering campaigns about how they play great football but never have anything to show for it.

"And it's also a huge shot in the arm for the rest of the season, with everything they still have to play for.

"But lose and the critics will be out in force again, asking 'Why didn't Wenger buy when he had the chance?' - you can almost hear it now.

"So, for that reason, he HAS to play his strongest line-up at Wembley.

"I know Arsenal are red-hot favourites but don't for one minute think this is an easy game for them.

"Those Birmingham players know they may never be in this position again and will be right in Arsenal's faces from start to finish."
