Arsenal legend Ian Wright says Chelsea face DISASTER if they fail to finish in the top four. Wright wrote in The Sun: "Fair play to Petr Cech for being honest and admitting it would be 'a lost season' if Chelsea are not in the competition next term.
"We are always hearing players at big clubs coming out with the same old predictable lines, so I have great respect for Cech being honest.
"He is right as Chelsea could face numerous problems if they fail to reach the Champions League.
"It may be easy to entice players with a combination of big money and likely success.
"Manchester City have the cash and now they can promise new signings the chance of likely silverware.
"Chelsea have been in a similar situation over the years as they have paid huge sums to players who have also known they are guaranteed matches on the biggest stage in Europe.
"So Chelsea will find themselves in an unusual position come the summer if they finish outside the top four.
"The only reward for players going to Stamford Bridge would be big bucks - and that is not always enough.
"Also, you get a certain type of top-class player who is prepared to sacrifice ambition in terms of not playing in the Champions League.
"So everyone at Stamford Bridge could be facing their worst nightmare."
