Arsenal legend Wright tells Benitez: You'll win over Chelsea fans with Lampard recall

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has told Rafa Benitez to recall Frank Lampard to silence the Chelsea boos.

Wright wrote in The Sun: "I know Benitez is his own man, but he would be very wise listening to all those who reckon he should get Frank back as soon as he can.

"Since he was sidelined, the Blues have played six league games. That is 18 points up for grabs, and do you know how many they have picked up in his absence? Four - and not a single win.

"They have not even managed a goal in the last three games, either.

"In fact, the last time they scored was in a defeat at West Brom, 321 minutes ago.

"Now the fans can kick off all they like about Robbie Di Matteo's sacking, and Benitez being brought in. They have already shown they do not need any encouragement on that score.

"While I don't agree with getting rid of Robbie - not too many do - that is not down to Benitez. I just wonder how different things would have been for Di Matteo if Lamps had been available for the last few weeks of his reign.

"Some people have been trying to write off Frank for years now. Too old, too big, too slow... you name it and they have had a pop at him for it.

"Well I bet they are having second thoughts about that now. If not, they certainly should be."
