Arsenal legend Wright rates Man City as best option for Rooney

Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes Manchester City are a real chance of buying Manchester United's fallen star Wayne Rooney.

In his column for The Sun, Wright wrote: "He needs to reflect. He needs to find himself. Of course, we all know this will not happen.

"Football is too big a business. But, right now, his future at the club appears unclear.

"I don't think he wants to leave but if his relationship with Ferguson remains poor, it would not surprise me if he did.

"There is speculation City may try to sign him. I never thought I'd see Michael Owen in a United shirt, Carlos Tevez in a City shirt or Sol Campbell at Arsenal.

"So if City really want him, it's possible. Barcelona? They did not have enough money to lure Cesc Fabregas in the summer.

"So the only other club with the dosh is Real Madrid but I cannot really see Rooney sitting in a cafe, eating tapas while talking to Real fans in fluent Spanish."
