Arsenal legend Ian Wright has told Wayne Rooney to hit the training track if he wants to recapture his best form at Manchester United.
Wright declared in his column for The Sun: "You know you've been playing below par for a consistent period going back to March, so this is the most difficult spell in your career. Along with all your millions of fans from Manchester United and England, I want you to play with the fire back in your belly.
"United need a striker to show passion and aggression and the rest of the country wants you back to your best so that you will show again that you are one of the greatest players in the world and are a huge benefit to the England team.
"There's no doubt you have that talent.
"You are still a young man and you have made some mistakes and what you did wasn't a great thing - but you are still a great player.
"There's no point saying that people will forget about what you have done, because they won't.
"And there's enough haters out there that will try and make sure you never forget what you've done.
"But in my experience, when you get your head down in training and get back to the good old-fashioned hard work, people can't harm you."
