Arsenal legend Ian Wright is delighted to see former club Burnley proving themselves capable of cutting it in the Premiership.
In his column for The Sun, Wright wrote: "I made only 15 appearances for the Clarets before I started listening to my body and retired.
"Yet I scored a few goals which helped win promotion to the Championship and as a result, I will always have a certain amount of affection for Burnley. It's a proper football club.
"I'm delighted to see them beating Manchester United and Everton and it would be fantastic if they can stay up.
"The Premier League is all about razzmatazz, world-famous stars and state-of-the-art grounds.
"Yet it is so important that a few 'real' clubs with old-fashioned set-ups also form part of our top flight otherwise everything becomes sterile.
"Playing at Burnley was certainly a bit different to what I was used to, but I enjoyed it."
