Arsenal legend Wright: I admire Capello
Arsenal legend Ian Wright wasn't surprised by Fabio Capello's resignation as England manager.
Wright feels the FA were correct in their treatment of Capello over John Terry's captaincy.
"I’m not sure what’s gone on in respect of confronting him or what. I heard that Fabio knew that they were going to do it, but he just disagreed with it, and I think that the FA were right, and I don’t agree with the FA a lot, but I feel that in this current time, with our captain in and around a racial allegations and a case pending, I think it was the right thing to do. It’s just going to be a nightmare for him and the squad if he’s the captain."He told the The Christian O’Connell Breakfast Show on Absolute Radio: "Well he’s obviously a very principled man and he feels that the football decisions should be made by the manager. I think that he’s wrong in that respect. I admire him for sticking by his guns and he’s resigned from arguably the best paid job in football and he’s walked away from it, but I do feel that the FA are right on this one, I think they had to make a stance on the John Terry thing.
