Arsenal legend Wright: Everyone wants Tottenham's Redknapp for England

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has joined the calls for Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp to succeed Fabio Capello as England coach.

Capello resigned from the post this week.

Wright told the The Christian O’Connell Breakfast Show on Absolute Radio: "He’s literally the only man in the way it’s going. The good thing is that Harry has been doing very well at Tottenham and so he’s like the outstanding candidate and he’s been that for a while since he’s been at Tottenham.

"For some reason Tottenham fans think that me, particularly, because of my Arsenal connections, want Harry to go just to derail them. Nothing could be further from the truth, I actually don’t care about what’s going on with Tottenham and where they finish, I just want the best man for the England job."
