Arsenal legend Wright: Chelsea's Torres will tear apart Man City

Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes Chelsea striker Fernando Torres will tear Manchester City apart tomorrow night after getting back his scoring groove.

Wright wrote in The Sun: "I think Chelsea's fans have to take great credit for showing real patience and backing their man.

"This was great to see and I'm sure this helped him on Sunday, particularly when he missed one decent chance.

"Torres has been praised in some quarters for his work rate throughout the nightmare spell, yet Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich signed him to score goals - and preferably in the Champions League.

"The Spaniard arrived with an excellent scoring record so there's no doubt the problem had been between his ears.

"A player cannot lose ability - only his confidence.

"People say his two goals were 'only' against Leicester but this is unimportant. Both efforts were superbly taken.

"Will Roberto Di Matteo now leave Torres up front and give him a run? For Chelsea, it will be like having a new signing.

"That's why it would not surprise me if he delivers some major damage at the Etihad and an away win could have a major impact on the title race as it would leave Manchester United four points clear."
