Arsenal legend Wright: Chelsea's Terry will regret England retirement

Arsenal legend Ian Wright feels Chelsea skipper John Terry will regret his international retirement call.

Wright wrote in The Sun: "The real winners over his decision to retire from international football are Chelsea and I'm sure Roberto Di Matteo will be delighted.

"This will keep Terry fit and fresh and we will probably see him play top-level football for a further year - or maybe even two - than if he had carried on playing for England.

"He will be remembered as a great defender for England and Chelsea.

"And he will always be able to point to a trophy cabinet crammed full of silverware. Equally, though, when Terry gets older and looks back on his eventful career, he will wish he had done some things differently. We all do.

"And one day, Terry will wish he had not given up on England when he was still one of the team's key players."
