Arsenal legend Wright: Ancelotti needs to shake up Chelsea stalwarts Terry, Drogba

Arsenal legend Ian Wright says Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is right to rotate his stars.

Wrighty believes the Italian has little choice but to wield the axe if he is to meet the lofty expectations of club owner Roman Abramovich.

The Arsenal legend told The Sun: "Chelsea have got some stars who are coming to the end of their careers now and they're going to need to bring in more players who can help the club push forward.

"If a team is looking to continually progress, as Chelsea are, no one should be guaranteed a place.

"If Terry is fit and ready to go, especially with the commitment, leadership and will to win he displays, he should play.

"But if you're not playing well enough and there's people waiting to come in, no one should think they're 100 per cent safe.

"When that happens, as Chelsea are finding, players get complacent and all of a sudden they start to decline.

"With Ancelotti saying what he has, Terry will be determined to prove him wrong - as will Drogba.

"He's another who has got to be performing and has got to be scoring goals. If they can't get that from him, they'll get it from someone else because that's the business Chelsea are in.

"When you've got a man like Abramovich at the helm who will spend £50million in one go, of course the likes of Terry and Drogba will be worried."
