Arsenal legend Charlie Nicholas believes that outgoing manager Arsene Wenger was not right to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January.
While Aubameyang has been a revelation, getting close to a goal a game since his introduction to the Premier League, Nicholas believes the move was disrespectful to a key member of the squad.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Nicholas said: "I don't think anybody has earned the tag of player of the year.
"I think a lack of respect was shown to Alexandre Lacazette by dropping him for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but they have proved they are better together.
"Mesut Ozil hasn't had a great season but he has still been the best creative player, but I have to abstain as none of them deserve it."
Nicholas' comments are surprising given the duo showed good performances playing together in attack. It will be interesting how the Gunners new manager fits both Lacazette and Aubameyang into his teams.
