Arsenal legend Freddie Ljungberg shocked British viewers with a four-letter slip on Match of the Day.

Embarrassed BBC host Colin Murray was forced to issue a grovelling apology to Match of the Day 2 viewers late on Sunday night after guest Ljungberg delivered a live four-letter gaffe, reports the Daily Mail.

Ljungberg appeared on the BBC show to offer insight and analysis.

"I had Lauren behind me for example," explained Ljungberg while talking about the Invincibles.

"If anyone kicked me he would kick the s*** out of them."
