Arsenal legend Thierry Henry believes Wayne Rooney has become a better player since Manchester United sold Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid.

Barcelona striker Henry puts Rooney's increased scoring rate down to his changed role with Manchester United.

"People were having a go at him before because he wasn't scoring," said Henry, who scored 174 Premier League goals.

"But how can he score when he was running like a nutter to get the ball? When he was arriving in the final third he was not fresh enough to finish, and this year you see the difference. If he stays up there for 10 years, he will score goals for 10 years."
