Arsenal legend Graham: Man Utd's Ferguson has outshone Wenger over years

Arsenal legend George Graham feels Arsene Wenger hasn't quite matched Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson as they've battle over the years.

Former Arsenal boss Graham has no doubt who has emerged as the clear victor ­between the pair over the years.

“It has to be Sir Alex,” Graham told the Sunday Mirror. “He has mastered the art of bringing in new players, building a new team but still winning trophies along the way. It’s a tremendous record.

“Don’t get me wrong – there is no way that you can criticise Arsene’s philosophy. ­Arsenal are a brilliant team to watch and play great football. But you hear so often they are building with an eye for the future – always the ­future. Well, it has been more than six years now since they won a trophy. Look at how many Manchester United have won in that time.”
