Arsenal are leading the race for Real Sociedad midfielder Asier Illarramendi.

The Daily Star says Illarramendi, 23, is the latest of a number of Spanish youngsters being chased by Europe's top clubs.

Illarramendi helped Sociedad finish fourth in La Liga this season and impressed for his country in the European Under-21 Championship.

Arsenal would need to shell out around £10m for his services - but it not clear whether the starlet would be interested in a move.
