Arsenal are launching a bid for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta.

Express says the Gunners are offering £12 million for the Switzerland international, though Bayer chief Rudi Voller won't give him up without a fight.

"We've held talks with him and want to extend his contract for a few years," said Voller.
