Arsenal keeper Shea to train with Colorado Rapids

Young Arsenal goalkeeper James Shea will train with MLS club Colorado Rapids.

The 21-year old will arrive in Denver early this week and commence training with the Rapids immediately as part of the relationship between the clubs, both of whom are owned or part-owned by Stan Kroenke.

Shea is yet to make a first team appearance for the Gunners but has trained with the England senior team and was an unused substitute in Arsenal's Champions League group stage meeting with Montpellier in September.

The Rapids, who currently sit at the foot of the Western Conference table, have number one keeper Matt Pickens sidelined with an arm injury with 23-year old Clint Irwin deputising ahead of Haitian international Steward Ceus.
