Arsenal keeper Lehmann: I hope I do not have to play again

Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann was delighted to make a winning comeback at Blackpool.

The veteran German, 41, made a shock return in this win at Blackpool.

And he will become the oldest player in Gunners history if he faces Liverpool next weekend.

But he insists beating Jock Rutherford's record is the last thing on his mind.

He said: "I didn't really expect it but it happened and sometimes life is about surprises. Will I play in the next game? I don't care because if that was my final game ever, I'm pleased because we won."

Having said that, Lehmann claims he is able to keep Manuel Almunia on the sidelines for a while yet.

He said: "The gap between Manuel and me was quite big at the beginning so I needed just three weeks to be fit. Now I am fit I can keep up physically. Let's see what happens."
