Arsenal keeper Lehmann expects to face Spurs

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is set for showdown talks with goalkeeper Jens Lehmann.

Lehmann said yesterday that he expects to play against Tottenham Hotspur a week tomorrow. The Germany goalkeeper has been rested after a series of early-season blunders and injuries but, in a bad-tempered outburst, he insisted that he is still Arsenal's first choice.

"If I am injured, then obviously another man plays, but I feel I am the No 1 at Arsenal," Lehmann said. "If he [Manuel Almunia] is a superman who stops everything then I may not play again, but from experience I know I have played constantly and I am not worried that I will not play again when I am fit. I will play."
