Arsenal keeper Fabianski confident of avoiding serious damage

Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski says he is unlikely to have sustained any serious damage from last night's knee injury against Olympiakos.

The Polish shot-stopper had to be stretchered off the pitch in the first half after colliding with teammate Thomas Vermaelen as the Gunners lost 3-1 in the Champions League but he is confident that scans will show there is no ligament damage.

"I think I am fine, it's just a really deep cut," he told the club's official website.

"It was really unlucky but hopefully all the ligaments in my knee should be OK. Hopefully nothing will come out tomorrow or in the next couple of days."
