Arsenal goalkeeper Damian Martinez is grateful to keeper coach Gerry Peyton.

The 20-year-old, who has already earned a call-up to the Argentine national team, was signed from Independiente in August 2010.

"Gerry said, 'Emi, we are totally confident in you. I know you are going to do well so make sure you're relaxed and everything will be fine'. He made me 100 per cent confident," Martinez told Arsenal Player.

"When I first came, I started learning English with him. I think he's a great goalkeeping coach. He's helped me so much.

"When I came, the pitches were so wet - it's the opposite in Argentina where the pitches are always dry.

"He helped me a lot. He told me to relax and said I'd be fine in a couple of months. I got it and I'm improving every single day with him."
