David James has given his blessing to Petr Cech breaking his Premier League clean sheet record.
The Arsenal goalkeeper produced his 170th shutout in his side's 2-0 win over Bournemouth on Monday night to surpass the 169 clean sheets set by James during his lengthy career with the likes of Liverpool, Portsmouth, Manchester City, Aston Villa and West Ham United.
In the wake of Cech's achievement, James spoke of the former Chelsea star and labelled him as a 'remarkable man'.
"Petr Cech is exceptional," he told talkSPORT.
"He's quite a remarkable man and. He's very focussed a little bit obsessive and wants to be the best at everything, which is a good quality to have.
"His record is nearly a clean sheet every two games, which is quite remarkable considering he's been doing that now for 11 years in the Premier League.
"He's quite a remarkable man and well worthy of holding the record."
