Arsenal keeper Cech targets winning streak

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has stated that the Gunners need to maintain their winning streak in order to finish in the top four.

Arsenal claimed a third consecutive victory with a 1-0 triumph over Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night and now the Gunners have given themselves a good chance of finishing in the top four this season.

Cech strongly believes that the North Londoners can earn one of the Champions League places but has insisted that his team need to continue their recent strong run of form from now until the end of May.

Cech said, according to Arsenal.com: "Well, you know, our remaining games are more or less like finals.

"So we needed to make sure we got all three points in a delayed fixture. After a big game at the weekend, having played 120 minutes, we had to rotate the squad. We needed to use everyone and I am pleased for everybody who came in and contributed to an important win.

"Well, we have two games less than Liverpool, so obviously if we win both of them we can catch Liverpool and will be closer to the top four target. So this is what we need. We need to get the wins in a row.

"Now we can be pleased with this one, but we have not much time to dwell on it and we need to prepare for the north London derby and obviously this is a huge game for both teams. Well, we have three wins on the bounce so obviously we try to carry the momentum to Sunday."

Arsenal next face North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
