Arsenal keeper Cech beats Man Utd star De Gea to Golden Glove award

Petr Cech has won the 2015/16 Premier League Golden Glove award.

The Arsenal goalkeeper kept 16 clean sheets in his first season with his new club, having crossed from Chelsea last summer.

In Cech's 34 league appearances for the Gunners, he conceded just 31 goals, as the North Londoners finished second on the table behind Leicester City.

The win was Cech's third in his career having kept 16 clean sheets for Chelsea alongside Arsenal's Wojciech Szczesny in 2013/14 and 17 for the Blues in 2009/10.

Manchester United star David De Gea had the chance to level with Cech but an injury-time own-goal from Chris Smalling in Tuesday night's 3-1 win over Bournemouth denied him from co-lifting the award.

De Gea remained on 15 clean sheets alongside Manchester City's Joe Hart and title-winning keeper Kasper Schmeichel.

Behind the top four was Tottenham's Hugo Lloris with 13 shutouts, while Watford's Heuelho Gomes and Liverpool's Simon Mignolet were equal on 11.
