Arsenal keeper Almunia favours Galatasaray move

Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia is ready to leave the Emirates.

The Daily Star says Almunia has told pals his future lies away from the Emirates, and Galatasaray in Turkey look favourites to land him.

Almunia, 33, has dropped down the pecking order in Arsene Wenger's side behind Lukasz Fabianski and Wojciech Szczesny.

Wenger told Almunia, who picked up an ankle injury in training four weeks ago, he could decide whether he wanted to stay or go.

Now the player, who has made 168 appearances for the club, has opted for a fresh start away from England.
