Arsenal have joined the battle for Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy.

The Daily Star says Arsenal want Wigan's £15m-rated midfielder McCarthy.

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez will hold talks in a desperate attempt to keep the 20-year-old.
