Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has revealed that no English team will ever be able to replicate the feat of the 2003/04 unbeaten Arsenal team.
City suffered their first defeat of the season when they lost out 2-1 to West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium on the weekend, ending their five-game winning streak.
The loss was a blow to the side which many felt could perhaps have gone unbeaten for the entire season but City ace Toure does not think it is realistic anymore for Premier League teams to go an entire campaign without suffering a defeat as the Invincibles did more than a decade ago.
Toure said: "The Premier League is always improving. You see how the big clubs invest in players for a lot of money and this sequence in football, the Invincibles, will never happen again in the Premier League.
"All the teams are spending money, buying big players - like West Ham, even Leicester, Stoke spending on players from Barcelona. You can understand how the Premier League is so competitive because all the players want to come to England and want to improve, and want to play well.
"You are not surprised to see Chelsea losing at home to Crystal Palace. It's difficult, the Premier League, for sure. Everyone can beat anyone, definitely," he said. "That's the good point of the Premier League, all the teams can be beaten.
"With this result you see how it is competitive, how a team may be at the bottom or middle of the table but they fight to stay in the league. It's very good."
