Arsenal are stepping up their bid for Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler. The People says the Gunners were watching the Schalke 04 ace in action during their midweek Champions League draw with Maribor.
Draxler has been suspended but returned to action against the Slovenian minnows as Arsene Wenger continued his interest in the playmaker.
The German admits he came close to joining Arsenal last January.
