Arsenal are reportedly considering tabling an offer for Manchester United defender Jonny Evans.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is optimistic about the possibility of signing Evans for a minimal transfer fee, as he looks to bolster Arsenal's stocks in the centre of defence.

It is understood that United have valued the Northern Ireland international at £10million.

Arsenal are not alone when it comes to their interest in Evans, with West Bromwich Albion also being linked with the 27-year-old.
