Arsenal are in contact with Real Madrid over a potential loan deal for James Rodriguez.

Colombian Rodriguez is currently on an extended loan at Bayern Munich but is set to return to the Bernabeu at the end of the campaign.

And a move to the Emirates for Rodriguez this month would be favourable for all parties, reports the Independent.

Rodriguez is determined to fight for his place at Los Blancos but that could become a lot more difficult if Real sign Christian Eriksen from Spurs and Eden Hazard from Chelsea.

Tottenham could battle their north London rivals for Rodriguez if Eriksen heads to the Spanish capital.
