Arsenal are in contact with Augsburg defender Abdul Rahman Baba.

The Sunday Mirror says the Gunners are set to enquire for the 20-year-old left-back after the player's agent Sascha Empacher travelled to England last week in order to begin talks.

Augsburg's Klaus Hofmann said earlier this month: "We will certainly not sell Baba for €20m. We are a perfectly healthy club, Baba is one of the top talents in the world. Anyone who wants to offer us a number like €20m, they can save the cost of the call."

Empacher met with Chelsea officials last Friday.
