Arsenal icon Henry may play on after 2014

New York Red Bulls striker Thierry Henry will not necessarily retire at the end of 2014.

The 36-year old Frenchman is under contract with the Red Bulls until after the next MLS season but could go around again according to comments he made in an interview on Sky Sports.

"I am trying to finish my career, which is something I really have to concentrate on. This is my last year, actually, the one coming," Arsenal great Henry said.

"I am not saying I am retiring. I'm saying that's my last year on paper, to make it clear."

Henry, who joined New York from Barcelona in July 2010, captained the Red Bulls to the 2013 MLS Supporters' Shield and is determined to guide the club to a MLS title before his time is up.
