Arsenal icon Henry to leave New York Red Bulls - Houllier

Red Bull's global director of football Gerard Houllier has revealed that Thierry Henry will no longer be with the New York Red Bulls next season.

It has been suggested for the past few months that the 37-year old French striker was set to end his stay in MLS and that notion has been confirmed by Houllier who says the Red Bull Arena will no longer act as home to the Arsenal great.

"He was planning on ending his career," Houllier told France Football.

"It's possible that these are his last matches. Perhaps the desire [to play] will tickle him and he'll retire somewhere else, but it won't be with the Red Bulls."

Henry joined New York from Barcelona in 2010 and has since scored 50 goals for the MLS franchise while helping them win the 2013 Supporters' Shield as well as the 2010 and 2013 Eastern Conference titles.
