Arsenal chiefs are eager for Arsene Wenger to sign a new contract now they have reached the Champions League Round of 16.
Mirror Sport suggested in October that the Frenchman would put pen to a lucrative deal once the Gunners moved past the group stage.
Wednesday night's 2-0 loss to Napoli did not dent the hopes of Arsenal although they now will be drawn against one of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid or Barcelona in the knockout phase.
Despite this, Wenger has achieved his goal and the north London club are now keen to secure him to a three-year deal which will be worth around £24million.
