Arsenal hope to give Walcott injury all-clear this week

Arsenal have hopes of Theo Walcott returning to training next week.

The Mirror says Walcott faces a crucial week in his bid to avoid a second operation in two seasons.

The England winger picked up a groin injury while training with England last month and has been under intensive treatment from the club medical team to cure the problem over the last two weeks. That will continue this week and the hope is that Walcott will be able to resume full training in the next seven days.

And if he is back with the main group, Walcott could be ready for the Christmas matches against Queens Park Rangers and West Ham or the first defence of the FA Cup when the competition reaches the third round stage on January 2.
