Arsenal hope to clear £24M of fringe talent off books

Arsenal management are confident clearing the decks this summer will make room for a £70 million spending spree this summer.

The Daily Mail says Arsenal executives hope to ease the way for the summer changes by offloading a number of their unwanted players.

The club will save £7.5m per year on wages when Andrey Arshavin and Sebastien Squillaci's contracts expire at the end of the season. They are also making moves to shift Bacary Sagna, Nicklas Bendtner, Andre Santos, Johan Djourou, Ju-young Park, Marouane Chamakh, Emmanuel Frimpong and Denilson. The club would save £24m a year on wages if they all go.
