Arsenal hero Wright: I'm glad this happened to ex-Liverpool, Man City hardman McMahon

Ian Wright has revealed in his new autobiography that he accidentally took revenge over Steve McMahon after copping some grief in England camp.

Wright managed to earn a call-up to the England national team back in 1991 following fine performances for club side Crystal Palace but the first taste of international football was not a pleasant one for the striker due to established teammate McMahon's constant criticism of him in training.

The 52-year-old was not pleased with former Liverpool, Everton and Aston Villa midfielder McMahon's 'bullying' and has now gone on to reveal that he inadvertently took revenge during a match between Manchester City and Arsenal.

Wright wrote in his autobiography 'A Life In Football': "We went in hard for a challenge.

"My foot went over, skimmed up his leg and gone bang into his groin.

"One of my studs has slit his p**** all the way down!"I didn't do it on purpose — there are other ways of getting your own back — but I won't pretend I wasn't glad it happened."
