Former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson blamed the defence for last night's shock defeat to Manchester United.
Arsene Wenger's defence suffered further humiliation with another dire display handing bitter rivals Manchester United a 2-1 win at the Emirates.
Wilson told the Mirror: "I had amazing protection around me when I played. I had to make a minimum five or six saves in any one game.
"So that has to be sorted quick.
"True, we've been very unfortunate with injuries. But we tend to think we'll score more goals than the opposition.
"When we became champions in 1971 we had great players like Charlie George and John Radford but it was basically because we didn't concede goals.
"I saw Chelsea come to Arsenal, score a goal and shut the game up.
"Until you stop conceding goals you don't have an opportunity to be in the title challenge."
